I think the stores are that expensive because the store owners have no intention of any of their items actually selling - they're just there to make the place look less empty.

Some players have been here for the 2+ years we've been online. With the increase in rates, it's entirely reasonable for anyone to obtain MvP items in large quantities over the course of even a few weeks.

Akkarin is correct mostly. The shops have multiple purposes for me. But the main one was indeed to hopefully make the server appear more alive.

 

To be painfully honest: I really do not care if anything sells. Because I can generate zeny faster by selling items to NPCs with these high drop rates. Not to sound rude or anything, its just true.

 

Another reason I made the shops is too create value for these more rare items so when newer players get to the point where they can go out and obtain these drops they too can put up a shop, under cut me a little bit, and make some good zeny in the process. Also, I am not against bartering on price if you are reasonable about it.

 

And finally on the point of hacks: at lvl 250 a majority of MVPs are solo able and the rest are duo able if you know what you are doing.

It's really hard at first, but once you get to a decent level maybe at around lvl 150 especially if you're a sniper, MVP's will be really easy to hunt since snipers can reach 199 aspd easily with improve concentration alone. Beating up common MVP's like drake, orc hero, orc lord etc. will be easy even with as less as 1k~ damage at 199 aspd.
